Due to my extensive experience working at Usborne Publishing, the largest and most successful independent children's book publisher in the
UK, I have a solid understanding of the industry and the publishing process. Whether it is a picture, chapter, sticker or activity book, educational material, fairy tales or non-fiction – I can edit, proofread, and translate books of various genres and for different age groups. I am also a proficient Adobe InDesign user and can typeset translated text directly into the file, edit your existing text or carry out text layout corrections.

its readability. In doing so, I place particular emphasis on non-stereotypical language.
While I primarily use Adobe Acrobat for my proofreading projects, I can also make text
and layout corrections directly in your Adobe InDesign files if requested.
Translation &
Typesetting
As a professional translator, I specialise in translating between English and German, ensuring your stories resonate with global audiences while respecting cultural nuances.
In addition to translation, I offer text setting services, allowing me to seamlessly integrate my translations directly into the text layer
of your provided Adobe InDesign files.
If you already have a translation that requires formatting, or if you are considering a revamp or extensive reprint corrections for an existing title in your backlist, I can handle typesetting and layout adjustments for you.
About me
I am a publishing professional with over 8 years of experience managing German-language children's books at Usborne Publishing in London, UK.
I have a strong background in production editorial workflows for highly illustrated children's book titles, encompassing translation (ENG↔GER), translation assessment, proofreading (including plotter checks), quality control (e.g. advances checks), as well as schedule and project management.
As a native German and native-level English speaker, I possess extensive experience in UK publishing, particularly in tailoring content for German-speaking markets.
My specialisation lies in children's and educational publishing,
with a focus on both illustrated picture books and non-fiction books. Additionally, I have honed my skills in writing, proofreading, translation, and translation assessment through my work with a luxury brand magazine and on various website articles and blogs.
